Prenatal phthalate exposure reduction through an integrated intervention strategy

چکیده

Pregnancy represents a sensitive susceptibility window to phthalate esters (PAEs). In this study, we develop an intervention strategy for reducing the exposure of pregnant women phthalates. Thirty-five women, who initially underwent maternity examination, were recruited from ongoing longitudinal prospective prenatal cohort study. The integrates diet, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Participants encouraged modify their behaviors habits according at three different periods. Urine samples collected participants after antenatal examination every month, 8 months, measure ten PAE metabolites. Mono-(2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl) (MEHHP), mono-n-butyl (MnBP), mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) (MEOHP) declined significantly 1st intervention, while mono-isobutyl (MiBP) mono-methyl (MMP) noticeably decreased 2nd intervention. sum molar concentrations MEHP, MEHHP, MEOHP, MECPP reduced by 20 40% during subsequent addition, MEP, MnBP, MMP, MiBP as well metabolites also reduced. Our findings suggest that through written recommendations can effectively reduce burden phthalates pregnancy.

Attention-Worthy Association: Prenatal Phthalate Exposure and Later Child Behavior

Human exposure to phthalates is ubiquitous due to widespread commercial use. Although the compounds are reported to be rap idly metabolized, concentrations in the body appear to remain fairly stable due to ongoing exposure. The United States and Europe have banned some phthalates from consumer products primarily on the basis of reproductive toxicity data. However, not all phthalates are regula...

Prenatal di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate exposure and length of gestation among an inner-city cohort.

OBJECTIVE Our objective was to assess the relationship between di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) exposure during pregnancy and gestational age at delivery among 311 African American or Dominican women from New York City. METHODS Forty-eight-hour personal air and/or spot urine samples were collected during the third trimester. DEHP levels were measured in air samples and 4 DEHP metabolite level...

Prenatal Exposure to Butylbenzyl Phthalate and Early Eczema in an Urban Cohort

BACKGROUND Recent cross-sectional studies suggest a link between butylbenzyl phthalate (BBzP) in house dust and childhood eczema. OBJECTIVES We aimed to evaluate whether concentrations of monobenzyl phthalate (MBzP), the main BBzP metabolite in urine, during pregnancy are associated prospectively with eczema in young children, and whether this association varies by the child's sensitization t...

Introduction: Lead intoxication in children has been associated with neurodevelopment disabilities that may result in motor and cognitive impairment. The aim of the present study is to evaluate in long term effects of prenatal exposure to low-level Pb2+ on learning, memory and EEG. Materials & Methods: Rat pregnant were exposed to distilled water or 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 % of Pb-acetate in the dr...
